As 2017 comes to a close I have started to think of things that I plan to do different in the coming year. Get more organized. Forget less. Don’t be afraid to say “no” if I’m already feeling overwhelmed. Stress less. Commit more time to my family. Be present…you know. All of the normal things.
As I was thinking of all of the ways to make 2018 “better” late last night, I started scrolling through my 2017 folder, only to realize that this past year was actually pretty great. Don’t get me wrong I still *need* to get more organized, and find a better work/work/farm/family balance, but being able to sit down and really reflect on everything that happened over the last 365 days always has a way of putting things into perspective for me. I met SO MANY amazing new people, was able to shoot in beautiful new places, hung out with some old friends and long time clients, had TONS of fun, and was able to witness SO. MUCH. LOVE. <3
When I went back just now and added it all up, the numbers kind of surprised me. I was blessed enough to have shot 15 of my own weddings, second shot a handful (I lost count after 5. Ha! See? Organization is a necessity around here.) more with a dear friend, and photographed 46 different families. Wow. I am speechless. And grateful for every single one of you!
